first I wold like to point you to the screens of openoffice aqua right from the , horses mouth

I would like to say that I am so sick of people pleading to use cocoa for the aqua port of OpenOffice because "carbon is old." As you might know, apple can't afford to let carbon get out of date because iTunes os carbon. also, its good for c++ the project's native language. you would have to rewrite the entire code-base in objective c++ and that's just nuts. they could also have used the tool they used to make macvim (just google it) finally there's just the nerve of non developers to critique how the development of their projects are done. Seriously, if cocoa was practical the would have chosen.
