Quick Tip #060

Add spacers to your Dock to help keep things organized.

To add a spacer to the APPLICATIONS side of the Dock:

defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-apps -array-add '{tile-data={}; tile-type="spacer-tile";}'

To add a spacer to the DOCUMENTS side:

defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-others -array-add '{tile-data={}; tile-type="spacer-tile";}'

After issuing either command, type in killall Dock to see the changes.
